How to Configure Slack Notifications
Step 1: Create a Notification Role
- Log in to your Xitoring Dashboard
- Go to Settings → Notification Roles
- Click Create New Role
- Name it (e.g., "DevOps Slack Alerts")
Step 2: Connect Slack
- In the notification role, click Add Contact
- Select Slack as the channel
- Click Connect to Slack and authorize the Xitoring app
- Select the Slack workspace and channel to receive alerts
Step 3: Assign to Monitors
- Open your monitors
- Under Triggers, assign the Slack notification role
- Save the configuration
Step 4: Send a Test Message
- Click Send Test in the notification role
- Verify the message appears in your Slack channel

- Create dedicated alert channels (e.g., #monitoring-alerts) to avoid noise in general channels
- Use different channels for different severity levels
