How to Configure Pushover Notifications
Step 1: Set Up Pushover
- Download the Pushover app on your device
- Create a Pushover account at pushover.net
- Note your User Key from the dashboard
Step 2: Create a Notification Role in Xitoring
- Log in to your Xitoring Dashboard
- Go to Settings → Notification Roles
- Click Create New Role
- Name it (e.g., "Pushover Alerts")
Step 3: Add Pushover Channel
- Click Add Contact in the notification role
- Select Pushover as the channel
- Enter your Pushover User Key and API Token
- Save
Step 4: Test
- Click Send Test and verify you receive the push notification
Best Practices
- Use emergency priority for critical alerts (requires acknowledgment)
- Set different notification sounds for different severity levels
- Configure quiet hours in Pushover for non-critical alerts
- Use device-specific targeting if you only want alerts on certain devices
