    Domain Expiry Checker

Find out when a domain expires, who its registrar is and how many days are left, straight from the registry.

    Check a domain's expiry date

You can paste a URL or a subdomain. The checker looks up the registered domain.

What does the domain expiry checker show?

It asks the domain's registry over RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS, for the registration record and shows the expiration date, the registrar and the number of days until the domain expires. If you enter a subdomain or a URL, it looks up the registered domain behind it.

Why check when a domain expires?

    • A lapsed domain takes the website, email and APIs on it offline at the same time
    • Auto-renew fails silently when a payment card expires
    • Domains registered years ago often sit in an account nobody checks
    • Expired domains can be registered by someone else and used to impersonate you
    • Knowing the date lets you renew on your schedule, not in an emergency

    Domain Expiry FAQ

Common questions about domain expiration dates and how to keep track of them.

Where does the expiry date come from?
From the registry's RDAP service, the standard successor to WHOIS. The registry is the authoritative source for a domain's registration, so the date is the one your registrar has on file.
Why does a domain show no expiry date?
Some registries, mostly country-code TLDs such as .de, don't publish expiry dates at all, and a few don't run an RDAP service yet. In that case the checker can't show a date.
How can I get warned automatically before a domain expires?
Add the domain to Xitoring's domain expiry monitoring. It checks the registration about twice a day and warns you 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before the expiry date, or at thresholds you choose. The free plan includes one domain expiry check.
