    What is Zapier Notification?

Zapier is a workflow automation platform that connects 5,000+ apps without code. By integrating Xitoring with Zapier, you can route monitoring alerts to virtually any application — from CRM systems to project management tools to custom databases.

    Why Use Zapier Notifications?

    • 5,000+ app integrations — Connect to almost any tool
    • No code required — Build automations with a visual editor
    • Custom workflows — Create multi-step automations (Zaps)
    • Conditional logic — Route alerts based on severity, monitor type, etc.

    How to Configure Zapier Notifications

Step 1: Create a Zap in Zapier

    1. Log in to your Zapier account
    2. Click Create Zap
    3. Choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger
    4. Select Catch Hook as the trigger event
    5. Copy the Webhook URL provided by Zapier

Step 2: Create a Notification Role in Xitoring

    1. Log in to your Xitoring Dashboard
    2. Go to Settings → Notification Roles
    3. Click Create New Role
    4. Name it (e.g., "Zapier Automation")

    Step 3: Add Zapier Channel

    1. Click Add Contact in the notification role
    2. Select Zapier as the channel
    3. Paste the Zapier webhook URL
    4. Save

Step 4: Configure the Zapier Action

    1. Send a test alert from Xitoring to capture the payload
    2. In Zapier, configure the Action step (e.g., create a Jira ticket, send a Teams message, update a Google Sheet)
    3. Test and turn on your Zap

    Example Zap Ideas

    • Create a Jira ticket for every critical incident
    • Log alerts to a Google Sheet for reporting
    • Send a Twilio SMS to custom numbers
    • Post to a Notion database for incident tracking
    • Trigger a GitHub Actions workflow for auto-remediation

    Best Practices

    • Use filters in Zapier to only trigger on specific alert types
    • Set up error handling in your Zaps for reliability
    • Monitor your Zap usage to stay within your Zapier plan limits
    • Test your Zaps thoroughly before relying on them in production
