    What is PagerDuty Notification?

PagerDuty is one of the most widely used incident management platforms, designed to help teams detect and respond to critical issues. When integrated with Xitoring, incidents are automatically created in PagerDuty when monitors detect issues and resolved when they recover.

    Why Use PagerDuty Notifications?

    • On-call management — Route alerts to the right person based on schedules
    • Escalation policies — Automatically escalate unacknowledged alerts
    • Incident lifecycle — Track from detection to resolution
    • Mobile app — Acknowledge and manage incidents on the go

    How to Configure PagerDuty Notifications

Step 1: Get Your PagerDuty Integration Key

    1. Log in to your PagerDuty account
    2. Go to Services → Service Directory
    3. Create a new service or select an existing one
    4. Under Integrations, add a new integration
    5. Select Events API v2 and copy the Integration Key

Step 2: Create a Notification Role in Xitoring

    1. Log in to your Xitoring Dashboard
    2. Go to Settings → Notification Roles
    3. Click Create New Role
    4. Name it (e.g., "PagerDuty On-Call")

    Step 3: Add PagerDuty Channel

    1. Click Add Contact in the notification role
    2. Select PagerDuty as the channel
    3. Paste the Integration Key
    4. Save

    Step 4: Test the Integration

    1. Click Send Test to trigger a test incident
    2. Verify the incident appears in PagerDuty
    3. Resolve the test incident in PagerDuty

    Best Practices

    • Set up escalation policies so alerts aren't missed
    • Use PagerDuty's on-call schedules for team rotation
    • Configure auto-resolve so incidents close when monitors recover
    • Group related monitors under the same PagerDuty service
