Incident Policy
The "Incident Policy" feature allows users to define how incidents are reported based on specific criteria. This replaces the previous "Fault Tolerance" input and offers more flexibility in managing incident reports.
Incident Policy Options
The Incident Policy is selected from a dropdown menu with the following options:
- Fast Incidents: Configured for rapid detection and reporting of incidents.
- Precise Incidents: Offers a balanced approach, ensuring accurate incident reporting.
- Global Incidents: Designed to handle incidents on a broader scale, suitable for large environments.
- Custom: Allows for user-defined settings tailored to specific needs.
Custom Mode Configuration
When "Custom" is selected, additional inputs appear to fine-tune the incident reporting process:
- Down FT: Set the fault tolerance for detecting a down state.
- Resolve FT: Set the fault tolerance for confirming a resolved state.
- Down Confirm Nodes: Specify the number of nodes required to confirm a down state.
- Resolve Confirm Nodes: Specify the number of nodes required to confirm a resolved state.
How It Works
The system automatically selects an incident policy based on predefined criteria:
- Fast: Selected when settings align with rapid incident detection.
- Precise: Selected when settings ensure high accuracy in incident reporting.
- Global: Selected for configurations that support global incident management.
- Custom: Selected when user-defined settings deviate from standard options.
These configurations help tailor the incident response to match your organization's needs, ensuring that you receive the most relevant and timely notifications.
